Letter to my senior self: Sophia Stern

Dear Senior me,

So far, freshman year has been a rollercoaster. Over the course of two semesters you have lost friends, gained some new ones, and reconnected with others. I’m sure that the next three years will be filled with just as much drama, excitement, sadness and times where you laughed so hard you cried. I hope that as you finish up your last year of high school, you can look back and say that you don’t have any regrets. I hope you feel proud of what you have accomplished at Gunn and the legacy you are leaving behind. There will be many times throughout these upcoming years where you want to give up, but I know you will keep going, because in the end, you will be grateful for everything you went through in your four years at Gunn, because it has shaped you into the person you are today. I hope that you take the time to slow down and appreciate the small moments here, like getting an A on a test, winning a lacrosse game or just laughing with your friends. All of the things that feel so big now will someday mean nothing, because you hold onto the good memories. As a senior, you have your whole life ahead of you and there are so many possibilities of what you can do. So now, when you look back and think about all of the things you did in your four years here, I hope you will be happy with yourself.

From,

Freshman Sophia
