Leaving Teachers Share Memories, Advice for Students – Daniel Hahn

After teaching at Gunn for the last 10 years, Daniel Hahn, a teacher of various different math classes at Gunn, has decided to move overseas at the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year..

Hahn has been given the opportunity to teach in Singapore, which is something he is very excited about. “It’s a good time for my family to make the move, since my son is only a year old,” he said. “My wife and I figured it would be a good chance for us to expand our worldview and learn about new cultures. I’m excited for a new adventure, to learn a new city and eat some delicious street food.”

Throughout his career at Gunn, Hahn has made fond memories, including taking part of staff choir musicals and watching his students grow. “The best part about teaching is building relationships with students, and I have had a lot of great memories of spending time with them,” Hahn said. Although he is excited for the next step in his life, Hahn will miss being a part of the community. However, he is planning on returning to Gunn in the near future. “I’m hoping to come back in a few years,” he said.
