Hi everyone! I’m Vin, and I’m running to be your School Board Representative. As an individual extremely passionate about all things local government, I believe I have the experience necessary to convey all of your voices in a clear and concise manner. I currently serve as a member of the Palo Alto Youth Council, the youth branch of the City Council, where I help create youth-driven initiatives that you might already attend (Final Study Cram Slam, Civic Engagement Summit, and others might come to mind). Additionally, I’ve gained a sense of local politics through campaigning for both a School Board and Congressional candidate who both currently sit in office. As a Layout Editor for Gunn’s social and political magazine, The Chariot, I’ve written and edited stories about the very issues we debate at school board meetings. Even if you disregard all of my experience for this position, I still believe I have the drive, passion, and transparency needed to be your SBR! As SBR, I’ll make sure that ALL of your voices are heard at Board meetings, and that it’ll be extremely easy to have your voice heard. Either through SBR accounts, a Google form, or simply just arranging a time to meet, I’ll be there for you. Thank you for considering my candidacy, and make sure to vote Vin for the win!

Hi Titans, I’m Angelise and I’m so excited to be running to be your School Board Rep! As junior special events commissioner, I spent the last year communicating with you, the student body. From events like Love Week to Homecoming, I’ve worked to incorporate your thoughts into our school events, whether that’s through clubs or directly from you! As part of SEC, I also helped to organize, publicize, and MC the Titan Town Hall event which allowed students to speak directly with members of the board. More generally, as a competitive debater, I’ve been engaged with policymaking and advocacy through my entire high school career, and I’ve had the opportunity to demonstrate those skills by moderating one of the school board election forums last year. I hope to utilize that same experience to bring your voice into the larger discussion. Specifically, I want to revamp and restart the SBR Advisory Board, and create other ways to hear your thoughts so that I can best represent you on issues like courses, mental health, cell phones, and more. But mostly, I hope that I can be a friendly face open to hearing opinions from all of you! Vote Angelise for SBR!

Transparency should be the standard. All too often, school decisions are made behind closed doors, leaving students with confusing reports, unfulfilled promises, vague explanations, and recycled action items that ultimately serve no one. Mandated legal reporting and compliance should be just the beginning, the foundation upon which true accountability is built.

I’m running for School Board Student Representative because I believe students deserve clear, honest communication about the school board’s goals, methods, and the rationale behind every decision. I’m not here to offer empty assurance or promises I can’t keep. I pledge to implement actionable procedures that foster genuine accountability.

As Eason Lu, a committed member of the SELF Advisory Board and the School Safety Planning Committee, I bring public information officer skills and a dedication to making our communication transparent and effective. Transparency should be more than a buzzword; it must form the backbone of how our school operates.

Let’s demand clarity, accountability, and real change. No more vague answers, no more empty promises, no more decisions made without us. Vote Eason Lu for your School Board Student Representative.

I’m Chloe. And I’m a little bit scared. Politics is messy and things can go downhill fast, all while far too many students feel powerless, doubting the impactfulness of voicing their opinions. Through so many conversations with you all, I’ve seen how people have been made afraid or intimidated such that they feel less inclined to express their true beliefs—to each other, teachers, and the school board—so in response, they sugarcoat everything to avoid outright rejection… or they stay silent altogether. This is problematic in so many ways, because EVERY opinion deserves to be heard—not only the loud and brave ones. I know I can’t offer boundless past experience or a stunning resumé to being your School Board Representative, but what I do promise is sheer determination and relentless fervor in representing EVERY voice. I hope to go beyond the baseline requirements of sending out notes once or twice a month and provide regular updates on the district’s going-ons that will directly impact us. I plan to hold small-scale, open, walk-in lunch meetings to make student input easier. The ultimate goal? To counter the sentiment that quieter, minority opinions should be left unspoken. A vote for Chloe Wu is a vote for YOU!
