As a dedicated student and highly competitive soccer player, I know the impact that school spirit and sports have on bringing a community together. My passion for athletics, teamwork, and school pride makes me a strong candidate for the Sports and Spirit Commissioner position . I am an energetic and cheerful person who thrives on creating a positive and spirited atmosphere, and I want to use this position to spread that enthusiasm to my fellow peers. If elected, I plan to enhance school spirit by organizing exciting rallies, promoting athletic events, and making sure every student feels involved and proud to be part of our school.

Hi Titans!! I’m Gwen, and I’m running to be your Sports and Spirit Commissioner. When I joined SEC last year, I had no idea it would have such an impact on my life. Throughout my time on leadership, I’ve learned how to plan events, create contingency plans, encourage spirit, and help the student body. Without spirit, high school becomes a monotonous four years lacking in activity and excitement. Because of our sports teams and our spirited student body, we are able to have an amazing Homecoming Week, prom, Sproco, and so many other special events. Over the last three years at Gunn, I’ve participated in Gunn cheer and sailing, danced in Airbands, and assisted with the events that make our student body what we are proud to be. For my senior year, I hope to be able to continue with this and make the next year as amazing as possible as your one of your Sports and Spirit Commissioners. Go Gunn!

HEY TITANS!! My name is Yaya Li, and I’m running to be YOUR Sports & Spirit Commissioner.

Spirit isn’t just about loud voices and big signs— it’s about having pride in the community you are a part of. My experience as a violinist in Gunn’s Chamber and Symphony Orchestras and as member of Gunn’s water polo team has taught me the power of fostering a tight-knit community through effective communication and teamwork.

I will ensure that our sports games and spirit events are as exciting and energetic as possible, with constant publicity being shared through physical posters, Gunn’s Instagram accounts, Schoology, Titan News Update, and more. Being a water polo player, I understand that less popular sports are often overshadowed. I hope to bring more attention and attendance to less mainstream sports, while, of course, not neglecting those that already have high turnout.

Gunn’s water polo team is one of the smaller sports teams on campus, but our energy is high and spirit is strong. Our community is one that always inspires me to work hard but also have fun. As your commissioner, I hope to bring the same spirit to the rest of Gunn, creating an environment where no one is left out. I promise to help engage the entire student body in all of our annual events, catering to our school’s diverse personalities and interests.

By being open to student input and feedback, I hope to make Gunn’s community even stronger next year, ensuring that every student feels included and is excited to participate rallies, floats, airbands, dress-up days, and more. To ensure tons of energy and spirit during the ‘25-’26 school year, VOTE LI FOR A GUARANTEE!

HEY TITANS! My name is Jocelyn, and I’m running to be YOUR Sports and Spirit Commissioner! If you haven’t heard me at spirit rallies, maybe you’ve heard me in the halls. I’m passionate, excited, and always ready to give my all. Throughout my short time at Gunn, I’ve choreographed airbands, showed up to every single junior floats meeting, and taken over 5000 pictures in HOCO week alone. All because I want to be someone who can help make and capture the memories that we as a student body create. I want to help make Gunn a place where you can call home, and what better way than to bring a little spirit and sound to our grey campus? As your Sports and Spirit Commissioner, I promise to do my very best to make your day-to-day just a little more interesting and to bring life to our campus. Going to school every day should feel more than just a responsibility, it should feel like you’re going back to somewhere you belong: Athlete, Artist, Academic alike. Athletes, I want to be YOUR 6th man from the stands, I want you to feel like you’re representing a school that is proud of you; Artists, your creativity and talent deserves to be everywhere, take your work out of the drafts, and into our spirit life. Finally, academics- take a break from Mitchell Park, let me help make your 5 minute pomodoro break worth it. Your Sports and Spirit Commissioner should be someone that you can turn to to help you show up, show out and show off, and I’m ready to be that someone. Vote for Jocelyn Yeung!!!
