Following a strong season last year, girls’ water polo coach Mark Hernandez looks to grow as a team and build upon past success. “We’re working with a very young team; over the past two seasons we’ve lost 17 seniors,” Hernandez said. “We were as inexperienced as ever, but still competed and beat many of the best teams.”
With most of the girls returning to play again this season, along with some new faces, Hernandez is ready to work the team towards more championship titles. “We’re leaps and bounds ahead of where we were last year,” Hernandez said. “Some teams, when they rebuild, they start again from the bottom. We stayed near the top.”
