Freshmen Expectations
—Compiled by Sabrina Chen
“I think that freshman will lose everything, but whatever.”
—Jamie Huang
“Probably loud. Really loud. There’s probably going to be candy and a lot of music.”
—Lydia Tsai
“They sound cool and I guess more people participate than middle school because there was less participation. They sound really big. Both seeing all the floats being done and the airbands being performed.”
—Kaelyn McFarlane-Connelly
Alumni Memories
—Compiled by Shawna Chen
“We always spent weeks getting ready for the floats, so we had a lot of float parties because in those days it was harder to make a float. I just remember tissue paper, glue and hours and hours trying to design it and put them together and get them on field.”
—Carol Acker (Class of 1981)
“It’s the first dance of the year, and it’s sort of a way to remember the fun parts of being back to school as opposed to just the work part. You have the whole school year ahead of you, and it’s just one small thing at the beginning to remind you that there’s fun things to do too.”
—Inna Zakharevich (Class of 2002)
