Sophia Kim: Sophomore Class Vice President

Hi, class of 2026! My name is Sophia Kim, and I am running for Sophomore Vice President. Since the first day of school, I have been participating in school events and spirit days that Gunn has offered, and I have seen how much energy, excitement, and joy these activities have brought to our school. When I saw all the smiles, shouts of happiness, and cheers from our grade during the Homecoming games, I thought to myself, how cool would it be if I could lead those activities and make them EVEN more fun for more classmates? I am confident I can do this job well because when I asked my peers what words they’d use to describe me, they all agreed I was approachable, friendly, and able to take action, which I believe are essential attributes for a great leader. As Sophomore VP, I will take positive action for our class, and I will bring diverse perspectives to the SEC from playing on three school sports teams that included all grades. I have seen SEC seek ideas from students and input them in their events, and I will continue this and improve upon it next year by striving to make sure everyone feels like they can share their opinions or ideas with me without judgment. My main goal is for our grade to connect and feel supported by each other. On SEC, I will listen and support every single one of my peers and take action to make our Sophomore year the best year yet!
